The pitch is purely workflow: collapse pubmed, jupyter, R, the cluster terminal and dozens of databases into one environment and everything is artifact-first and auditable, and every figure carries the exact code, environment and message history that produced it, so you can validate and rerun it.
It runs locally on macos/linux or over ssh, ships with 60+ skills and connectors for genomics, proteomics, structural biology and cheminformatics, and renders 3d protein structures and genome browser tracks natively.
Still in beta though but the interesting part is that openai shipped gpt-rosalind, an actual fine-tuned bio model, gated behind enterprise review. anthropic is betting on that the workflow layer matters more than a specialized model, same play as claude code
